Distant relations of Nixies, Pixies and Faires, the Asrai's most identifiable characteristic is their tendency to stay near sources of fresh water. While Tritons, Nerieds and Lochnesses may be found near the sea Asrai prefer the cool, calm flow of rivers and lakes, where they grow large, luminous trees deep below the waterline. The Asrai's trees are believed to be far too deep to be uprooted for examination without the assistance of powerful magic, but it's reported that the crystals they produce, when pulverized, can be sewn into the earth to create Magic Dust.
